About John Hayward
After teaching high school English for twenty-one years, John accepted an exciting newly-created position offered to a few teachers in his district. He now serves in the same building as a teacher-librarian in the Learning Commons networking with colleagues to increase literacy and research programming. John also teaches college composition courses, which extends his love for helping readers and writers. A combination of graduate degrees in English and theology plus graduate work in education makes the perfect formula for his success, he says. When not listening to his wife’s second grade classroom concerns or shepherding five children through their developing stories, John may be exercising or reading. More likely, he is sitting at his desk writing and wondering how long it has been since he last read or exercised. John enjoys presenting at workshops and conferences on topics related to literacy and writing.
